The Fat Man's Buffet is offered in the Golden Eagle Lounge Monday through Friday for lunch. The menu consists of assorted salads and Caesar Salad, Carved Roast Prime Rib of Beef with Horseradish and Au Jus, Chilled Jumbo Prawns with cocktail sauce, as well as additional entrée and vegetable selections each day. The buffet includes a delightful selection of desserts and pastries as well. The menu price is $23.95 per person.
The name of the menu or buffet comes from a centerpiece that sits in the center of the buffet table - it is adorned with a large porcelain sculpture of a large man sitting on top of a globe of the world. The Fat Man's Buffet is rumored to have been created in the mid 1940's to cater to the many people entertaining the executives of Ford Motor Company. The lavish display created a tremendous local following and that reputation continues today.
